PostSubject: Rate My Team Rules   Fri Jan 01, 2010 10:10 am

*RMT Rules*

Include 6 Pokémon. This will help rates. If you really have no idea about a last Pokémon, 5 will be OK. Our Pro's can allways give you some help LOL
Give your planned, final movesets. People don't want to rate a team of level 17 Pokémon with 3 moves. Then we're just building a team for you. Tell us what you plan on using, then we can help you work to achieve that.
Don't give serious Pokémon utility moves or HMs like Cut and Rock Smash. They just aren't up to par with other moves of their type. Surf is the exception to this rule, and there may be very few others.
A Pokémon should have 4 different TYPES of moves, unless they serve different defensive and offensive purposes. For example, you don't need Flamethrower, Ember, Fire Blast, and Fire Spin on your Charizard. Choose one and replace the others with different types of moves to suit your strategy, such as Earthquake, Wing Attack, and Rest.
Items are helpful or crucial to many strategies, choose wisely.
Personality is a helpful feature to tell us. This will set the tone for the Pokémon's role on the team. For example, you wouldn't want to give your physical sweeper a -Attack personality, but you might to a stall Pokémon.
EVs are important to all Pokémon. Similar to Personality, they define the role even more solidly. (IVs can be helpful, but usually only on Pokémon with Hidden Power.) If a Pokémon has a choice of natures, you should include that. Usually its helpful to include it anyway for those of us with fading memories.
You can and should include a strategy paragraph(s) to help give your opinions.

A basic Pokémon entry could look like this (feel free to include anything else):

Toxicroak @ Leftovers
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpA)

~ Substitute
~ Focus Punch
~ Sucker Punch
~ Ice Punch

Remember, these are just guidelines to follow,
but they will help your team get more rates!
